Open Training Event

Trauma, Treatment & Evidence Base

An invitation for conversations on working alongside people seeking refuge

Date: Sat 3rd & Sun 4th February 2024
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Venue: Online via Zoom

Outline

Delivered over two seminars, the conversations will seek to invite consideration of the politically contextualised nature of therapeutic work, where it benefits the psychological wellbeing of people claiming refuge.  Drawing upon discussion and experiential-based activities, it will invite us to consider our psychobiological relationship to work in this field.  As well as, how practice can be influenced by and / or disrupt various local and geopolitical contexts such as the UK’s Hostile Environment and broader sociopolitics.

These seminars will include small group working.

Who the seminars are for:

The workshops are available to all practitioners that work with refugees and people claiming asylum in a therapeutic context, as well as those with an interest in understanding the themes relevant to working with this client group.
