Considering the impact of neurodivergence and culture in the therapeutic spaces

Outline
The aim of this workshop is to raise awareness of working with Neurodivergent clients whilst considering the impact of their culture within their experience.
It will include audio interviews with neurodivergent people who are in therapy as well as varied interaction, discussion and experiential activities.
What this workshop will cover
- Statistics – How likely are we to experience working with neurodivergent clients?
- The difference between neurodiversity and neurodivergence.
- Insight into the neurodivergent experience
- Outlining some experiences of working with neurodivergent clients, in therapy (things I have noticed).
- External locust of evaluation, Window of tolerance – theoretical practice
- Raise awareness of the impact of neurodivergence for people of colour.
- Reflection on the material presented
- Celebrating difference
- Sharing ideas about how to meet the needs of our neuro divergent clients
This is an open practitioner event.
