Misgana Berhane
I trained as a person-centred therapist in 2006. I am an accredited member of the BACP and a fully qualified EMDR therapist working online and face-to-face. I am also a qualified intergenerational family mediator.
I have experience working with Black Minds Matter and other organisations that work with refugees, diaspora, modern-day slavery, cultural issues, racial trauma, and childhood attachment issues.
I became a therapist after my own personal therapy and overcoming the effects of becoming a refugee from war-torn Ethiopia/Eritrea and then experiencing racial trauma in the UK. I am particularly passionate about the importance of self-healing of the mind and body through mindfulness, EMDR, and other body and mind experiencing. I am also passionate about the need to be culturally sensitive.
