Dr Kam Dhillon (he/him)

Kamaldeep is a psychodynamic therapist and supervisor of therapy with over twenty years of experience having trained in Leicester, Manchester, and Oxford. He holds a PhD exploring acculturation, cultural marginality, and mental health and completed his Masters in Psychodynamic Practice at University of Oxford where he is also a Tutor. His counselling and supervision practice has involved working with individuals and groups in public and independent sectors, including Oxford University Counselling Service. Kam is accredited and registered with BACP, BPS, and UKCP. He is also an Organisational Psychologist, having held lead roles in research and consulting in academic and policy development settings. Kam speaks Punjabi and some Hindi and Urdu.

His work focuses on a range of concerns, including anxiety, bereavement, LGBTQ+ issues, perfectionism, racism, sexual abuse, and substance-misuse. Beyond helping clients progress from problematic behaviours and mental states, he aims to foster a collaborative inquiry that enables them to accept themselves with their limitations and potential, and to improve their overall resiliency, sense of agency, tolerance of a wide range of thoughts and feelings, capacity for intimacy, and awareness of others as having separate subjectivities.
