As a valued member of our multi-disciplinary team in our Talking Together Wirral service, you will be encouraged to be an autonomous practitioner, whilst operating within a supportive framework which includes regular high-quality supervision and support from your line manager and our clinical lead.

As an accredited counsellor, you will use your skills and extensive expertise to deliver counselling to our clients across a range of issues including low mood, depression, and anxiety. Your recovery and outcome rates will reflect your ability to build a successful therapeutic relationship with our clients and go the extra mile to achieve the right outcomes for them. This is a permanent role, preferably full time (37.5 hours per week), but we will also consider part time. Your salary will be £27,386 – £42,121 per annum. Salary starting point is dependent on skills, experience, qualifications and accreditation (includes pay progression). You will be based in our Talking Together Wirral service, which is based in Woodside Business Park in Birkenhead.

We would love to hear from you if you have a diploma in Counselling from a recognised course which would meet the requirements for BACP (or equivalent) accreditation, a proven track record of delivering short-term counselling therapy, and evidence of building strong therapeutic relationships with clients. You must be accredited (or nearing accreditation) by at least one of the following bodies: BACP (must be accredited, membership is not sufficient), NCS (must be accredited, membership is not sufficient), UKCP or IPT UK. Possessing at least one of the following NICE compliant qualifications is preferred, but not essential: Counselling for Depression, Interpersonal Psychotherapy (must also be registered with IPT UK), or Couple Therapy for Depression. If you do not have the NICE qualification, you must be willing to undergo this training during employment.
