Main duties of the job
The post of Clinical Director is crucial to our structure. Working alongside the Associate Director of Operations (ADO) and closely with the Medical and Nursing Director you will be one of three CDs each overseeing a Division of three Delivery Units and reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).

As CD, you will also hold a clinical role within the organisation, prospective candidates both internal and external are strongly advised to discuss how this might be configured with the COO prior to applying.

The CD is clinically accountable for the safety and quality of services within the division. You will oversee the development of services, implementation of governance processes, learning from incidents and complaints and as a result of this you will be able to ensure that you and your teams can provide regulators with evidence of compliance with standards. You will be a key member of the South West Provider Collaborative, which oversees services including our Secure Hospital and CAMHS inpatient unit.

The effectiveness of the CD and ADO partnership is vital in the successful oversight and delivery of the division. Our Specialised services are piloting the implementation of “Compassionate Leadership” within the organisation, and as CD it is expected that you will embody this approach and role model it consistently.
