Rotimi Akinsete

Rotimi Akinsete M.Sc., Diploma in Clinical Supervision

Therapeutic Counsellor (MBACP), Clinical Supervisor (CPPD), Training & Organisational Development Consultant and Mentor

Rotimi Akinsete has extensive experience in private, community and NHS counselling settings. He has worked as Director of Student Welfare & Support Services at the University of Oxford, and held similar positions at the University of Surrey, the University of the Arts and the University of Greenwich.

He is founder and director of Black Men on the Couch. This widely applauded project, open to the public, links psychotherapy and the personal experience and identity politics of African and Caribbean men and boys.

Rotimi was formerly service lead for adolescent counselling for the North East London (NHS) Foundation Trust, where he managed a large team dealing with diverse and challenging issues.

He has worked as an independent facilitator, trainer and advisor on various transformational leadership programmes in the UK and overseas. Rotimi has served on a number of panels around the subject of counselling and psychotherapy and has conducted several workshops on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

He is the author of This Book Could Help: The Men’s Headspace Manual.
