Samina Ali (BSc Psychology, MA DMP, IEP Cert)
Over the last 10 years since graduating in her 2nd career, following completion of a relatively pioneering Integrative Dance & Movement Psychotherapy Master’s at Roehampton Uni, Samina set up her Private Practice working with adults in North Wales, CYPs in primary schools, Social Green Prescribing initiatives, and facilitating conflict resolution (incl. drawing up policies for this) in eco activist communities. Two years ago, Samina relocated her private practise down to Watford, alongside working as a Mental Health Practitioner in secondary schools – as her passion remains to support young people to become more empowered, resilient, and supported to bring their gifts into the world.
Samina has been one of the birthing members 5 years ago, of the DEI group for the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapists, and more recently, the spur of the Race Equity and De-colonisation Working group as part of the DEI. Before her relocation back to Watford, Samina was the Chair for the Wales Art Therapies Advisory Forum for two years to support the growth, visibility and strategic involvement of the Arts Therapists amongst Welsh Government and the Allied Healthcare Professionals.
Also, currently training Talking Therapists on how to use the body within IEP, and very recently embarking on becoming a Tutor for the level 4 counselling qualification at Place2Be!,embarked.
