Trainee CYP Cognitive Behavioural Therapist x2

YMCA Dialogue have successfully secured funding for two trainee CBT therapist posts to work with children and young people. This exciting and unique opportunity is part of a wider strategy to increase access to evidence-based interventions to children and young people exhibiting mental health difficulties in the pathway in Sussex. YMCA Dialogue is a multi-modality therapeutic service working with 11-18 year olds experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. We work closely with CAMHs, the local authority and a range of voluntary and community sector organisations to deliver effective short-term therapeutic interventions.
The post-holder will work within the Dialogue service providing interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post – holder to provide interventions based on CYP-IAPT care principles and also interventions consistent with the CBT training course. The post- holder will work in the service for at least 2.5-3.0 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the remaining 2.0-2.5 days.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
