Applications are invited from qualified, experienced counsellors and psychotherapists to undertake both individual counselling with students, and to deliver psychoeducational presentations and workshops in this busy and well-respected multi-disciplinary service.

The Opportunity:

You will have the opportunity to work as part of a large team, and it will help to have a clear understanding of how the organisational context impacts on therapeutic decisions

You would be expected to work three days per week, (Mondays to Wednesday) between September and June.

The role is contracted on a ‘Guaranteed offer of hours’ basis, and the hourly rate includes an annual leave allowance.

We particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, as they are under-represented in this role.

The University Counselling Service is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Your skills and attributes for success:

A professional qualification in counselling or psychotherapy with a minimum of two years post-qualifying experience
Have Counsellor/psychotherapist accreditation with BACP (or other PSA registered body) or working towards accreditation
Skilled in practising brief therapy and in delivering therapy remotely (online and by telephone)
Knowledge of adolescent development and risk assessment
Have a clear understanding of how the organisational context impacts on therapeutic decisions
Experience of working with groups and delivering training is desirable
