Counselling for people facing death, dying and bereavement

We currently have an opportunity for a training placement within our team, and are looking for a trainee with an interest and experience of working with death, dying and bereavement to join our friendly and dynamic team.

The Harbour recognises the positive value of diversity and is dedicated to being an inclusive organisation. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and are committed to having a team with a diverse set of skills and experience.

The Harbour offers affordable counselling for those affected by death, dying and bereavement. We offer in-depth individual, couples and group therapy from a psychodynamic and relationship-based perspective.

The Harbour placement is for 2 years, and we accept applications from experienced trainee counsellors or psychotherapists, studying for a professional qualification at Level 4/5 or above and accredited by BACP or UKCP. Your training must include a psychodynamic component and you will be expected to demonstrate an interest and an ability to work within this approach. Fortnightly group supervision is included. You will need to be in your own personal weekly therapy, be able to see up to 3 clients per week, and commit to attending our weekly team/complex case discussion meeting on Tuesdays at 11am.

Please get in touch should you wish to discuss any access or disability requirements.

The closing date for applications is Friday 14th June at 9am

Interviews will be held on Friday 21st June at The Harbour, with a view to the successful applicant starting in September.

To apply for this job email your details to placements@the-harbour.org.uk.
