Counselling for people facing death, dying and bereavement

Join The Harbour: Make a Difference in Bristol
Are you ready to give some of your time to Bristol’s community? Do you want to be part of a professional, thoughtful, and supportive team? Are you passionate about working with people facing death, dying, and bereavement?
The Harbour is a charity dedicated to ensuring that everyone in Bristol has a safe space to talk and be heard during times of death, dying, and bereavement. We offer individual, couples, and group counselling to adults impacted by life-threatening illnesses.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced therapist to join our team and contribute to our local community. We are looking for someone who:
Shares our passion for providing support to people experiencing death, dying, and bereavement.
Wants to help The Harbour expand our reach to those who might not typically access therapy.
At The Harbour, our honorary therapists work with individuals affected by bereavement or facing life-threatening illnesses, either at our central Bristol base or from community locations. We work from a psychodynamic foundation, so a grounding in psychodynamic work and experience working in a fixed-term model is essential.
We are committed to reflecting the diversity of the communities we serve and particularly welcome applications from all backgrounds. If you are interested and unsure if you match the Person Specification, or for more information and an informal discussion, please contact Christina Saltmarsh (Clinical Lead) at Christina@the-harbour.org.uk.
While this work is deeply rewarding, it can also be challenging. You will:
Be supported by an amazing team of colleagues in a positive and collaborative working environment.
Receive fortnightly group supervision with one of our experienced clinical supervisors.
Participate in weekly team meetings, which include clinical discussions, organizational updates, and reflections on the impact of the work on the team.
Join us at The Harbour and help provide crucial support to those in need. Your expertise and compassion can make a significant difference in people’s lives. Apply today!  Contact recruitment@the-harbour.org.uk and request an application form.

Closing date: 20th September 2024 @ 5pm
