Child Psychotherapist/Psychodynamic Child Therapist

The Bridge in Schools is expanding and looking for a suitably qualified and experienced therapists to join a lively, experienced team of clinicians. The team provides specialist services to children, families, and staff in a range of local schools. It is an excellent opportunity to bring mental health expertise to the heart of the local community. We currently have vacancies in two schools:
The first is a new partnership in a primary school serving a diverse population in the heart of Bristol (10 hours made up of one day in the school and 3 hours for supervision and team meetings). The second is to join an existing team working in a Bristol specialist school for children with moderate and severe learning difficulties (5 hours in school plus 3 hours for team meetings and supervision). We are happy to consider applications for both posts or for either school separately, depending on interests and experience.
The Bridge Foundation is a Bristol based charity, which has been delivering a range of clinical and training services relating to the needs of children, young people, families, and adults for over 30 years. We want our workforce to reflect the diversity of the populations that we work with and would particularly welcome applications from candidates with a BAME background.
Applicants need to demonstrate experience of bringing psychodynamic thinking to working with vulnerable children, including children with special needs and their families. They will be qualified as a UKCP/ BCP/BACP/HCP accredited psychodynamic child counsellor, or a qualified child psychotherapist accredited with the ACP. A professional education, mental health or social work background, a good understanding of child development, and an experience of personal analysis would be highly relevant. Experience of SEN and Learning Disabilities would be an advantage for the work in this setting.
The work includes: 
Work with the school to develop effective emotional/learning support strategies in school
Supervision of teaching and support staff
Classroom observations and assessment
1:1 school-based therapy for children and young people
Family work; work with parents; liaising closely with school staff
