The Assistant School Project Manager provides a wonderful opportunity for a recently qualified counsellor with ideally a year’s post qualification experience to develop the relevant skills and knowledge required to be able to progress within the ranks of our internal Counsellor/Therapist career pathway. Providing day to day support to the School Project Manager you will play a central role in delivering therapeutic and emotional support in schools.
As part of your role you will be responsible for delivering, one-to-one clinical work with children and young people, Place2Talk (a lunchtime self-referral service), assisting with group work, providing one-to-one clinical work with children and/or young people, participating in supervision with the SPM, discussing and reporting any concerns or issues arising from the supervisions that have taken place with the Counsellors on Placement or with your own work, assessing and allocating children and young people to an appropriate Counsellor on Placement.

The Successful Candidate:
Will have a recognised counselling or therapy qualification with some post-qualifying experience, along with a good knowledge of the school environment. Most important of all is your approach; we are an exciting, dynamic organisation doing amazing work so we’re looking for people with the enthusiasm and commitment to match our own
Hold a recognised qualification in counselling or therapy
Possess recognised membership of a relevant professional body(BACP/ PTUK/ UKCP/NCS/BPS)
Preferably have one year post qualification experience as a practicing therapist or counsellor with an understanding of various therapeutic disciplines
have previous experience of working with Children and Young people
Demonstrate understanding of working with children and young people who require or would benefit from emotional and therapeutic support and experience of the school environment.
