Birkbeck University is seeking a dynamic Counselling Service Manager to lead a talented and enthusiastic team of Student Counsellors deliver on our aims.

You will be an experienced psychodynamic clinician, looking to work with a small team of psychodynamic Counsellors. The culture of the Service is friendly and collaborative, whilst achieving a high standard of counselling.

The post provides the opportunity to think about and implement all aspects of the service including clinical, operational and marketing to the student population, as well as working with other Managers in wider Student Services. There are opportunities for continued professional development in addition to regular group consultation, external individual consultation, and an external supervisor to the team.

*Leadership style and experience that combines both authoritative and consultative elements
*Proven ability to provide high quality, psychodynamic short- term counselling
*Ability to manage student risk and undertake clinical lead responsibilities

Remuneration:

Grade 8 of the College’s London Pay Scale which is £45,996 rising to £54,142 per annum.

The salary quoted is on the College’s London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
