Open Practitioner Event

Couples and Singles Diagnostics & Case formulation

Seeing through the vast array of issues that Couples bring

Date: Saturday 31st May 2025
Time: 10am – 4.30pm
Venue: Online via Zoom

Outline

Prior to embarking upon the substantive work (as the Therapist) it is useful to have a good understanding the key issues to focus upon. That is done as a case formulation with the client(s).

These Diagnostic sessions are similar to taking the vehicle to the garage for its MOT. The vehicle is plugged in and the computer is able to diagnose the issues, for which the customer receives a printout showing the areas that need investigation and work. In a similar way, in The Kairos Centre we have developed 5 Diagnostic sessions for the areas of Sex Therapy, Singleness, Sex/Porn/Love Addiction, Couples and Business personnel issues.

This webinar will look at Couples Diagnostics only and the work done in those 5 sessions; using (mostly) Timelines & Genograms. You will be given the resources and tools to diagnose and create the case formulation alongside the client – with your hypothesis for the future work – aiding the clients reflections.

It will be experiential and demonstrated using a volunteer (if willing).

Aim of this training

Equip you with the skills to undertake a Diagnostic and Case Formulation of a Couple and/or a Single person’s issues being brought to Therapy – in readiness and as a platform for the later substantive work together.

Who should attend this training

Students, Counsellors, psychotherapists, holistic practitioners, coaches, social workers, health professionals and anyone who works with individuals, Couples and families.
