For Black History Month, BAATN will be hosting an event that will be exploring the histories and contributions of important black therapists and psychologists who have practised in the UK through the years. The session will be both a celebration of black therapists and an opportunity to learn about some of the important concepts they have proposed that specifically support black mental health, There will be opportunities to make contributions and give reflections.
The term ‘Black’ is a political and sociological term, identifying people who have been most vulnerable to the oppression of White racism owing to differences in skin colour.
