BAATN Gathering
Calabash: Women of African Heritage Gathering
The Women of African Heritage Gathering holds safe space for Black Women Practitioners of African heritage
Monthly ⋅ Online
Outline
The Women of African Heritage Gathering holds safe space for Black Women Practitioners of African heritage to explore personal experience through the intersections of identity and practice in relation to the organisational and societal structures we navigate from day to day. The areas of discussion will be cultivated from themes brought, each month, by participants in relation to this.
The Women of African Heritage Gathering will offer opportunity to be in majority and community to reflect on both our unique and shared experiences while facilitating a supportive environment through mutual respect, acknowledgement and solidarity. Participants will be encouraged to engage in critical consciousness, as decolonial thinking, in order to feel liberated from the constriction of acculturation and enjoy a sense of belonging on their own terms.
Facilitators
Moriam Grillo and Sarah Randall
