Five one-day SEMINAR EVENTS at The Stephen Lawrence Centre, London SE8

Each day will include a talk, discussion and experiential exercises to process and explore concepts and ideas that will support your work as a therapist or trainer when working with matters of race. Centre for British African Caribbean Studies 'New Human’ Education Initiative'
Dr Gordon, a lecturer at London South Bank University, is author of Towards Bicultural Competence: Beyond Black and White and also pioneer of The Metanoia Project 2007-2034 (Teach) and (BAC), a social movement launched in 2007 and focused on dismantling the black-white duality. Some of you might have seen her speak at the last BAATN conference.
Dr Gordan is starting what she is calling the 'New Human' education initiative specifically for members of the established black Caribbean community in Britain (as opposed to new Caribbean immigrants and/or African immigrants). It will be a high-level learning experience as she is a national teaching fellow (researching on the topic for nearly 30 years now) and the knowledge being shared is taught on validated university units all of which have received recommendations from external examiners. The pioneering element is that for the first time the knowledge will be focussed on the educating members of the established black Caribbean community in Britain.
